The United States remains the top importer of Indian engineering goods, purchasing $9.3 billion (up 6.2%) from April to September, according to data from the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC). The United Arab Emirates (UAE), benefitting from a Free Trade Agreement with India, secured the second spot with $3.9 billion (up 45%), while Saudi Arabia imported $2.6 billion (up 18.4%). Mexico, a “near-shoring” hub for Latin America, showed a rise to $1.9 billion (up 19.5%), and Turkey saw $1.66 billion (up 14.4%). Although shipments to Western Europe faced longer routes due to Red Sea disruptions, exports to the United Kingdom (up 7%) and France (up 7.4%) stayed resilient, while Italy and Belgium saw declines. East Asian markets, including China ($1.3 billion, up 9.3%) and Japan ($1.15 billion, up 31%), registered substantial growth.
