Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) Bima Sakhi Yojana in Panipat, Haryana, aiming to empower women aged 18 to 70 across India. For women who have passed Class X, this scheme offers training, a stipend, and the opportunity to become LIC agents, promoting financial literacy and independence. Women will receive a monthly stipend of ₹7,000 ($85) for the first year, followed by ₹6,000 ($73) and ₹5,000 ($60) in subsequent years, based on policy retention.
