Centre Monitoring MAGA Backlash as Musk Says H-1B Needs Reforms

The Times of India reported that the External Affairs Ministry, Commerce Ministry and IT Ministry are closely monitoring the racist attack against Indian H-1B visa holders in the US.

Elon Musk, Trump’s multi-billionaire friend and political aide, has dialled down his support for H-1B visas after the issue faced a massive backlash from MAGA supporters. He said, “The programme is broken and needs major reform.”

Musk responded to a post by Robert Sterling stating that the H-1B programme is not for the talented but is just a way for corporations to employ lower-wage IT and financial services professionals. Musk said the problem can be easily solved by raising the minimum salary significantly.
