JSW and Shield AI Partner to Produce Advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems in India

JSW Defence Pvt. Ltd. and US-based Shield AI Inc have announced a partnership to manufacture the V-BAT, a Group 3 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), locally in India. With a commitment of $90 million over two years, JSW Group will establish a manufacturing facility and compliance program, investing $65 million in the first 12 months to ensure technology licensing, workforce training, and a local supply chain.

The V-BAT, a versatile intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platform used by the United States Marine Expeditionary Units (MEUs), will support the Indian Armed Forces, serving as both a domestic and global production hub.
