External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar criticised Europe's "selective approach" regarding India's purchase of Russian oil, stating that each region prioritises its own interests. Speaking to Corriere della Sera, Jaishankar questioned why Europe has not completely severed business ties with Russia, if principles are paramount. He further added that Europe’s shift in energy imports has increased global market pressures.
On the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Jaishankar noted that India, as a non-signatory to the ICC, has already expressed its views by staying outside the body.
