India has finalised a nearly $3.5 billion deal with the US for the procurement of 31 MQ-9B High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) from General Atomics. The package includes 170 AGM-114R Hellfire missiles, laser-guided bombs, and other munitions. The Cabinet Committee on Security approved the purchase, which includes 15 Sea Guardians for the Navy and 16 Sky Guardians for the Army and Air Force. The deal also involves setting up a Global Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in India, strengthening India's Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.
