Discussions have intensified over resuming direct passenger flights between India and China, with the Chinese government eager to restart operations. Officials have revealed that another meeting has been requested by China to negotiate a fresh proposal aimed at enhancing bilateral ties.

On September 12, Indian Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu met with Song Zhiyong, the Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and there are "positive indications" that flights may resume soon.

Additionally, both nations agreed in August to strengthen diplomatic and military contacts to address border tensions. The Chinese government has urged Indian ministries to facilitate travel for Chinese businessmen, technicians, and engineers. In response, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has set up an online portal to expedite visa processing for Chinese technicians, particularly those involved in the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
