The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in the National Capital Region (NCR) revoked Stage 3 measures of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) with immediate effect after the Capital's air quality improved to the "poor" level on Sunday.
The AQI improvement can be attributed to the light rainfall and strong winds over the weekend. The IMD said the minimum temperature is likely to take a dip, which will worsen the air quality further. AQI is likely to fall into the "very poor" category between Monday and Wednesday.
The capital woke up to a thick layer of dense fog on Monday. An "orange" alert for dense to very dense fog conditions that affect traffic throughout the national capital region was issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Routes to the Delhi airport, train stations, and numerous highways were impacted. Visibility at Indira Gandhi International Airport dropped to 50 meters. However, flight operations are not experiencing significant delays.
