Google has announced AI research and models to support India in the agriculture sector.

Google is granting developers access to its Agricultural Landscape Understanding (ALU) Research API, which leverages artificial intelligence and remote sensing to deliver insights at the individual farm level throughout India. The technology determines the boundaries of fields, water bodies, and vegetation, as well as their area, by combining high-resolution satellite data with sophisticated machine learning models.

This would enable India's agricultural ecosystem to make more data-oriented and informed decisions. It will also lead to the development of precision agriculture tools, optimisation in resource allocation, and improvement of farm management practices.
