As per the list of business scheduled for the Lower House on Thursday, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is set to move the ‘One Nation, One Election’ Bill to be referred to a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).
BJP's PP Choudhary, a Lok Sabha MP from Pali in Rajasthan, is set to lead the JPC. Congress’s Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Manish Tewari and Sukhdeo Bhagat along with BJP’s Anil Baluni, Sambit Patra, Purushottam Rupala, Anurag Thakur, Bhartruhari Mahtab, Vishnu Dayal Ram, CM Ramesh, and Bansuri Swaraj will be members of the committee.
The Committee will also include NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, Trinamool Congress’ Kalyan Banerjee, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s TM Selvaganapathi, and Samajwadi Party’s Dharmendra Yadav. Among BJP's allies, Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Shinde, TDP’s G M Harish Balayogi, RLD’s Chandan Chauhan, and Jan Sena Party’s Balashowry Vallabhaneni will be members.
The Committee will represent 21 members from the Lower House and 10 from the Upper House. The list of the Rajya Sabha members is expected to be notified later Thursday.
