A thick layer of very dense fog covered New Delhi on Wednesday morning. The national capital's air quality fell into the "very poor" range. The Central Pollution Control Board reports that at 7 a.m. today, the AQI was measured at 344 in Delhi. It was 252 yesterday at the same time.
Over 100 flights were delayed at the Delhi airport on Wednesday morning due to dense fog resulting in low visibility.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius. According to Indian Railways, Foggy conditions delayed 26 trains heading to Delhi. Flight operations continue at Delhi airport. However, authorities have warned that flights not compliant with CAT III standards could face delays.
"Low visibility and fog over Delhi may lead to some delays. We're keeping a close watch on the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly," IndiGo said in a post on X at 8.18 am.
