Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s mother, Asha Pawar, prayed for the reunion of Ajit and his uncle, Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar, during her visit to Pandharpur. Senior NCP leaders, including Praful Patel, expressed support for the reconciliation, with Patel calling Sharad Pawar a "deity" and advocating for unity within the Pawar family. The split in June 2023 saw Ajit join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiv Sena alliance, while Sharad Pawar's faction won only 10 out of 86 seats contested in November elections. Both groups remain divided on the prospect of reconciliation.
