The Centre has chosen two locations close to Rajghat to serve as the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's memorial.

The government will most likely suggest a portion of Vijay Ghat, the memorial for former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, or Ekta Sthal, the memorial for former President Giani Zail Singh.

The Times of India reports that during a meeting with the home ministry on Thursday, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs—the nodal agency for memorials—proposed these two locations.

After Friday's Antim Ardas (final prayers) ceremony for the former prime minister, the family will be consulted about the two locations.
