Four Indian nationals charged with the murder of Khalistani activist (designated as terrorist by the Indian government) Hardeep Singh Nijjar were granted bail by a Canadian court. Karan Brar, Kamalpreet Singh, Karanpreet Singh, and Amandeep Singh, arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, face charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The Supreme Court of British Columbia will begin their trial next month, with the hearing set for February 11. Nijjar, a wanted terrorist in India, was shot dead outside a gurdwara in Surrey in June 2023. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged Indian government involvement. Delhi had denied Trudeau's claims made in the Canadian Parliament.
