The appeal of Seclink Technology Corporation (STC), an infrastructure business located in the United Arab Emirates, contesting the awarding of the ₹5,000-crore Dharavi redevelopment project to the Adani Group was dismissed by the Bombay High Court on Friday.

In 2019, STC submitted a bid of ₹7,200 crore for the Dharavi redevelopment project, which was higher than Adani Infrastructure's bid of ₹4,539 crore.

In 2020, the government led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis added 45 acres of land from the Railways to the redevelopment project by approving an additional payment of ₹800 crore.

Following the acquisition, the government decided to issue a fresh tender as the cost of land acquisition was not accounted for in the original tender. New bids were invited in 2022.

STC could not participate in the new tender due to certain restrictions. This translated to Adani Group became the sole bidder and got the project on July 13, 2023.

STC claimed that the cancelling of the tender by the government lacked logical backing. According to them, the railway land was accounted for in the earlier tender of 2019.
